EU regional and structural policy funding in Southern Finland
Welcome to the structural funds website and the section on Southern Finland. Here, you will find news and current issues related to the EU’s 2021–2027 regional and structural policy programming period, as well as information about the regional priorities of funded development measures and how to apply for funding in Southern Finland.
Southern Finland has four funding authorities that grant funding from the EU regional and structural policy programme: the Regional Council of South Karelia, Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council, Häme Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment, and Central Finland Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment.
Regional councils fund ERDF and JTF regional development projects in their areas. Each region chooses its priorities for development and the projects to be funded. The Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council coordinates funding tasks for the regional council of Häme, Kymenlaakso, Päijät-Häme, Helsinki-Uusimaa and Southwest Finland. The Regional Council of South Karelia is the intermediate body for funding in its area.
Tasks related to regional and structural policy funding (ERDF, ESF+, and JTF) that have been assigned to centres for economic development, transport and the environment are handled by the Häme Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment in Southern Finland and by the Central Finland Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment in Southwest Finland.
