Innovation and Skills in Finland 2021–2027 – EU regional and structural policy programme

The European Union’s regional and structural policy (cohesion policy) contributes to strengthening economic, social and territorial cohesion and correcting imbalances between countries and regions.

The EU’s support for the Member States is channelled through fixed-term programmes prepared in the Member States and approved by the European Commission. Each Member State prepares a programme for each EU cohesion policy programme period, describing the starting points, goals and measures defined by the Member State for development ac-tivities, as well as funding in accordance with regulations on the EU’s programme period.

Innovation and Skills in Finland 2021–2027 – EU regional and structural policy programme has been prepared in broad cooperation with representatives of ministries, regions and organisations. The programme supports business, energy, climate, innovation, education and employment policies, as well as activities against exclusion and poverty.

It applies to Mainland Finland. The Government of Åland is responsible for local programme activities.
