Welcome to the structural funds website and the section on Southern Finland. These pages provide information on funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) and the Just Transition Fund (JTF).  Southern Finland has four funding authorities that grant funding from the EU regional and structural policy programme: the Regional Council of South Karelia, Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council, Häme Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment, and Central Finland Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment.

Eastern Finland

Welcome to the structural funds website and the section on Eastern Finland. This site contains topical information related to the Innovation and Skills in Finland 2021−2027 regional and structural policy programme, such as funding applications and events in Eastern Finland during the 2021–2027 EU programming period. Eastern Finland comprises three regions: South Savo, North Savo and North Karelia. The allocation of funding is guided by the Innovation and Skills in Finland 2021−2027 programme, which includes measures of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) and the Just Transition Fund (JTF).

Western Finland

Here, you will find news and current issues related to the EU’s 2021–2027 regional and structural policy programming period, as well as information about the regional priorities of funded development measures and funding applications in Western Finland. The area of Western Finland encompasses the regions of South Ostrobothnia, Central Finland, Pirkanmaa, Ostrobothnia and Satakunta. In the case of funding from centres for economic development, transport and the environment (ESF+, ERDF business funding and JTF), Western Finland also includes the regions of Central Ostrobothnia and Southwest Finland.

Northern Finland

National themes

Suomen kartta, missä koko Suomen alue korostettuna

It has been agreed that part of the funding provided for the Innovation and Skills in Finland 2021–2027 programme from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) will be allocated to national themes. The national themes are strategically important development themes whose preparation is coordinated by various ministries.
